This team from Cacouna provides pastoral services to neighbouring villages of St Arsène, St Jean-Baptiste de L'Isle verte, St-Modeste, Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs, St Paul de la Croix and St-Épiphane which forms "from the land to the sea sector ( le secteur de la terre à la mer)"

The current church was built in 1845, welcomed its first faithful in 1848, consecrated in 1897 and was classified a historical monument en 1957.In general, the external architecture is of a great simplicity with a desired sobriety. The church is made of stones of various sizes and colours, with two slim bell-towers.The interior holds a surprise: its size and its majesty exceed by far what the external sobriety makes it appear to be. |
The interior of the church is incontestably a work of good taste and a success from the artistic point of view. One can find many paintings imported from Rome, the church contains splendid chandeliers made of crystal de Versaille, purchased in 1890. The previous year, Stations of the Cross made of baked earth were bought in Paris to underline the devotion of the parishioners.
An organ of two claviers and eighteen plays was purchased in May 11, 1888 from M. Eusèbe Brodeur for $ 1 500. The restoration of the organ was done in 1973 and evaluated to $3,600.
